Mayor Michelle Wu’s 2025 Civic Summit

During the winter of 2025, my team and I developed the branding for the second annual Civic Summit, themed “Be the Change.” From the start, we set out to create a distinct visual identity that would differentiate this summit from the previous year’s. Inspired by bold colors, collage-style graphics, and duotone effects, we aimed to strike a balance between Boston’s rich history and its evolving future.

To reflect this vision, we featured imagery deeply woven into the city’s cultural fabric. Paul Revere symbolized Boston’s Revolutionary roots, while The Embrace represented the city’s role in advancing civil rights. The Custom House Tower served as a nod to our historic skyline, contrasted with City Hall to reflect the city’s architectural and civic evolution. The concrete texture in the background echoed City Hall’s iconic cast-in-place concrete walls, reinforcing the visual connection to Boston’s Brutalist architecture. We included the Zakim Bridge to represent Boston’s diversity and global connections. Finally, we incorporated elements like the MBTA and residential housing to highlight everyday life—capturing the essence of commuting, community, and urban living in Boston today.

Merchandise Mock Ups

As part of the branding of the 2025 Civic Summit, we created merchandise to provide to our attendants and our volunteers. I created these mockups of all the merchandise that we were interested in purchasing to send to our vendors and help our management visualize the final product.
