In fall 2025, I collaborated with the Mayor’s Digital Team to produce a video outlining the requirements for residents to vote by mail in the Preliminary Municipal Election. The video was created in partnership with the Digital Communications Director for Mayor Michelle Wu on behalf of the Boston Election Department, with the goal of delivering clear, accessible voter education through social media.
I worked closely with the Digital Communications Director to define the creative vision and storytelling approach. I led pre-production planning by coordinating with the Mayor’s team and the Boston Election Department, developing the script and a detailed shot list to ensure clear direct-to-camera messaging supported by engaging visuals.
To enhance clarity and accessibility, we incorporated a custom motion graphic to visually break down the vote-by-mail steps and associated deadlines. To execute this, I independently taught myself Adobe After Effects in one day using online tutorials, then designed and animated the graphic for inclusion in the final video.
I handled all post-production for the project, including music sourcing, video editing, captioning, and writing the accompanying social copy. The final piece was published to the Community Engagement Cabinet’s official Instagram account, reaching 11,021 unique users. It generated 16,465 views—87.7% from non-followers—and received 316 interactions, highlighting the effectiveness of meeting residents where they are to communicate critical voting deadlines and reinforce the City’s commitment to civic access and engagement.
